Waterblasting Crime Scene

Crimes of this nature must be reported to our customers so that future crimes won’t be committed. Education is the key to getting out of the cycle of crime.

We are reporting the details to you as they are given to us by Stripe Hog Trainer, Sam Shrout.

THE CRIME SCENE

Let’s look at the evidence surrounding the crime.

CRIME:A stripe removal attempt to remove one arrow and then put new arrow down.

EVIDENCE:

  1. Visible scarring
  2. Damage to surface
  3. Beginning removal of aggregate
  4. Visually displeasing and unprofessional

CONCLUSIONS BASED ON EVIDENCE:

  1. Improper spray bar set up
  2. Improper nozzle configuration
  3. Improper water pressure
  4. Improper dwell time
  5. Improper job set up
  6. Improper analysis of stripe cleaning vs. stripe removal

HOW CRIME COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED:

  1. Testing the area to determine correct water pressure, spray bar and nozzle.
  2. Considering the option of cleaning marking vs. removing
  3. Operator Training

Operator Training is highlighted because if this crime had to be boiled down to ONE thing,
it would all come to that. A properly trained operator.

HOW CRIME COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED:

  1. Testing the area to determine correct water pressure, spray bar and nozzle.
  2. Considering the option of cleaning marking vs. removing
  3. Operator Training

A properly trained operator:

  • would not have used the wrong spray bar, nozzle configuration and pressure
  • would have tested the area first
  • would have first considered stripe cleaning and not removal
